"Gradulation" was really sweet. We were so proud of him. Kaneu does not like to be the focus of attention - especially in a roomful of strangers. He did great and had a fun time at the party afterwards. I can't believe our little man graduated! Kindergarden starts Sept 1. Oh my!

gradulation
Kaneu woke up Wed morning and asked Brian "is today my gradulation?". Oh I could eat this boy up.

back from the beach
We are home from the beach. We had such a nice time and the weather was incredible. The kids had so much fun and slept wonderfully. Ruby is talking SO much. More on that on her 18 month update ... in 3 days!

Here are some beach pics. I didn't take nearly as many as I was hoping to. I really wanted to get a family shot of us on the beach but that never happened. Perhaps we'll have to go back?!
Brian is home all this week! Yay!
As we were packing up the car to drive down to meet up with some friends at their cottage Brian realized he locked the keys in the car. I decided to snap some pics while we waited (for 45 min!) for the guy with the slimjim.

kaneu was growing impatient and was ready to go to the beach.
ruby was content (she had a snack) in the stroller
Tomorrow my little man graduates from preschool! HOW is this happening? Big day for my big guy.

the week
Another week has flown by! Here's the lowdown of what we've been up to ...
Celebrating an exciting opportunity Brian has been offered at work
Hangin' with friends
Trying to stay cool in this crazy heat wave
Sewing ... something I have really missed!
I need to take a photo of my very small project that my mom helped me with. Ruby has started sleeping with a pillow and we made her a very sweet little pillow case for her new pillow. The perfect project to ease back. Next week? A smocked dress!
Brian got home late last night and this morning we left bright and early for the beach. Our friends Greg and Sarah rented a cottage and asked if we wanted to join them. Umm, you don't have to ask us twice! We had a great day at the beach. The weather was perfect. The kids had a blast and were in bed by 7. They are sleeping in the same bedroom and it was really sweet because Kaneu wanted Ruby's port-a-crib right next to his bed so that he could see her. They partied for a while and were fast asleep by 8. They are having fun together and it just makes me so happy. I walked into their room earlier today and they were hugging. Little sweeties.
Hope you are having a fun weekend!!

Six months ago we were strangers. Today I can't remember not knowing this little bundle of sweetness.

stumped (no title for this post)
Is it really the weekend again already? May is really flying by!!
Tues. Babysat our Godbabies
Wed. Played hooky
Here are the week's highlights.
I promise, I will try to have some more interesting posts ... someday.
Tues. Babysat our Godbabies
My mom and I took the kiddos over to sit the Godbabies. 5 children under the age of 5. Yikes! It was loud. It was wild. Griffin told me to "go away" at least a dozen times. He also peed on the floor. And hid in his mama's closet after his bath. Naked. Kaneu cried because Simon isn't inviting him to his party. Davis was an absolute angel. Ruby came home with a new word ... "mine" (thanks Griff!). I love these babies but I do not think that I could ever have 5 kids. And to think that there was a day when I was all "oh yeah, bring it on!".
Kaneu and I played hooky from Cubbies. It was hot and humid and a cold treat was just what we needed. I felt terribly guilty for not taking him - but my craving for ice cream was really, really bad. We spent the remainder of the evening outside rolling down the hill and playing and just enjoying some quality family time.
Thurs. Groovin' in the Garden
We saw Brandi Carlile last night at the Botanical Gardens. Such a beautiful place for a concert. Loved it. Love her.
Fri. Visited my Grandparents
I love how comfortable the kids are with their great-grandparents. It got a little chaotic towards the end of our visit. It was nearing bedtime and Kaneu had 2 pieces of candy and carrot cake. Who can say no when at Great Gramy's? He was wild and had a complete meltdown as we were leaving. Still a great visit and meant so much to them.
In Ruby news ...
She willingly and happily walked into the babysitting nursery at the gym TWICE this week!! This is such an answer to prayer. Up until this week she would cry when I would drop her off, which is generally once, sometimes twice a week. The women there are really sweet and they say she does well and stops crying after a few minutes. It is still hard for me to leave her there when she's upset. I am SO happy that she is enjoying it now. This week when I picked her up she was all smiles, gave hugs goodbye to the ladies and waved bye-bye.
She shopped til she dropped! My mom and I had a full morning of errands on Wed. The last errand was the mega shoe store, D$W. That place is insanely huge and overwhelming but we both had store credits and so we decided to go. Ruby was having a ball playing with the purses, carrying them around and trying on all the hats. About 15 minutes into our trip we were at opposite ends of the store when I finally found my mom carrying a passed out Ruby. She slept in my mom's arms, while my mom tried on shoes, for about 45 minutes!! I wish I had snapped a pic because it was precious.
We had another great week with Grammy Sue. This pic is a little fuzzy and blurred (still learning how to use that 50mm lens!!) - but I love it.
See you next week mama!

mother's day and ruby's dedication
Hope all you mama's had a wonderful Mother's Day!! We had a really nice day with a yummy brunch with bloody mary's followed by a lovely nap. Brian gave me a beautiful necklace. I'm feeling really spoiled, and I really, really love it. Kaneu gave me an assortment of le Pens - my favorite!!
Yesterday Ruby was dedicated at church. While I don't actually have any photos (Diana, did you get any?) we did get a few snaps afterwards. It seems like yesterday that we were having Kaneu dedicated - but that was almost 4 years ago!!! I couldn't resist sharing this ...
