iUpdate

safari dec 2010

Happy 2011!! We had the most amazing time in South Africa. It was incredible and I will do a proper post soon once I upload all of my photos. For now I will iUpdate you on what we've been up to since we've been home. Btw, iUpdate is an iPhone photo update. Yes. I'm dorky.

1. Reminisce about our trip and play with souvenirs.

the postcards we sent ourselves arrived! that was a good day

2. Watched and LOVED Mary Poppins

3. Rode the double decker bus and got the entire first row upstairs! This never happens. Ever.

4. Kaneu started swimming lessons

5.Ruby started gymnastics and ballet

6. The kids have gotten reacquainted with their toys

7. I have rekindled my love for Wagamama

8. Ruby has become infatuated with her dress-up clothes. As in she changes into them all.day.long. We can use them as leverage to get her to do just about anything AND she has had taken them away from her for a full day, which was very traumatic (for everyone involved!).
chatting with grammy sue

9. We have resumed our daily routines. Wednesday is the day that Ruby and I go to Pilates in Primrose Hill. Afterwards we go to the same cafe (a great little veg spot) and have lunch. When the weather is nice we go to the park afterwards. These days we come home and snuggle on the couch under a blanket until Kaneu comes home from school. Spring, hurry up!!

10. Haircuts. We've all had them. Except Ruby because she wants "long hair like Mommy's".

Haircut + Hot Chocolate = Happy Boy

11. Loving on this little cutie. Oh My Goodness. We missed her. Poor thing got sick before we left. I took her for her annual check-up and she caught kennel cough. Seriously!! Poor baby. Thankfully she is all better now.

12. Getting ready to attend a charity dinner at Buckingh*m Palace Thursday evening. Seriously. WTF?? I'm still actually wondering if this is a mistake and they sent the invite to the wrong people. But our names are on the invitation!!

I just dropped my wineglass when I saw the Buck invite. Words cannot even express my jealousy.

All the photos are adorable... but Ruby with her bum in the toilet is *adorable!*

Hi. I found your blog a while back (not sure how) and I love it! This post is fantastic and I cannot believe you're going to Buckingham Palace. That practically makes you Royalty!

Yay for iphone posts! Great update. The photo of Ruby halfway in the toilet just killed me. I saw a few of your photos from S.Africa on FB so I'm dying to hear more about that fabulous trip! In the meantime, have fun at the palace. That should be VERY interesting :)
PS- Totally random question but I love, love, love your living room rug. Where did you get it? We need a new one ....

Oooooh, how could I forget to mention that I too LOVE Wagamama and your photo made my mouth water. I know they now have a few in other countries (I went to the one in Amsterdam most recently) but I sure wish they'd come here! I have fond memories of waiting in line for a table and the line snaked down those stairs into the basement. Awww, memories. Back in 1994, the waiters' gadget that sent your order back to the kitchen seemed so super cool, too :)

Wait - it looks like you're doing all the touristy things we're supposed to be doing on OUR trip!

Mary Poppins
Double Decker Bus
Snuggling with the cuties
Buckingham Palace

What in the world?? Be ready to do it all again real soon b/c WE'RE ON OUR WAY!!!

Love you!

I haven't checked your blog in a while and MAN! You do not disappoint! LOVE the pic of Ruby on the potty. That's priceless. I used to live in South Africa (or southern Africa...Lesotho). Can't wait to see those pics. Now I need to update my blog. It's been MONTHS (b/c Blogger changed their format and I don't have time to make it look cute again!)
